Spring/Summer of 2025

Welcome to the Iowa Sticks Rookies Registration page! We are looking forward to another exciting year of developing and working towards developing the best Youth Baseball players in the Des Moines Metro. Our Rookies program is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game, while providing a very competitive setting to help promote growth and development. 

Quick Notes about the program:

• Early Jan. to mid-Feb. developmental training (2 nights per week, Wednesday and Friday, no activities over holiday breaks).

• First week of April one indoor practice at Sportsplex West and one outdoor practice, if the weather permits 

• The program includes approximately 40+ training sessions during the course of the season.

Two additional areas of participation:

League Play - All members will participate in league baseball games

• CBL of Iowa (Competitive Baseball League) and/or OBL (Open Baseball League)

• Volunteer parents will coach during league games(Select teams will have a paid coach, coaches pay will be reflected in tournament pricing)

• 7U - coach pitch

• 8U - kid pitch

• Cost of training program $850 ($200 deposit, payment plan available and will begin 30 Days, 3 installments  after registration)

Competitive Tournament Play

• Players are selected for this portion of the program by the Iowa Sticks coaching staff.

• Tournament team Selections are based on evaluation days performed by the Iowa Sticks staff over during November/December. There will be 2 evaluation days that will take place. 

• Cost of tournament play and league is not included in training fees. 

  • Tournament schedule will be created by the academy/coach of the team.
